A legit post on my blog!? No way!!

We’ll start earliest chronologically and work our way back to the present, shall we?

Twilight meet at the end of may marked the end of my running career at Holmdel. 4:33 and #6 all time on Holmdel’s all time 1600m list? Not too shabby. And nice run from the rest of the team, but I’m sure you guys are well aware if you’re even reading this, so i won’t bother to dig out the results. We went to Red Oak afterwards with a few alums. It was karaoke night. I sang Bohemian Rhapsody with Jayram. An exquisite night. I’m glad I got my shit together this track season.

The rest of the school year without running felt pointless. I spent an entire 4 years going to school for reasons other than learning, namely running and getting into college. Because seriously, high school is nearly meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Underclassmen: make sure you’re happy in high school, and don’t fret the small stuff. And Sam will agree that low A’s on your report card are just as good as high A’s. Don’t bother getting higher grades. You certainly won’t learn any better, and it won’t help you get into better colleges.

And here’s my pitch to the underclassmen: Apply to UIUC. The admissions office likes holmdel/hightech kids. And they give good scholarships. (All 3 guys going this year have a minimum of 12k scholarship) Plus you have sexy and greasy upperclassmen there. Finally, you’ll also get mad Asian parent approval for going there because it’s ranked #4 in engineering. If it’s your top pick and you apply on the priority application (due in November), you’ll know by mid December whether you’re in or not. Meanwhile, the stupid Asians in your grade will still be bitching and moaning that no one got in early decision at Ivies. btw i should point out that UIUC rapes every Ivy in Engineering and is better than all of them except Penn for Business.

I had low expectations for prom because i’ve heard that it’s really overrated by the typical high schooler. Hence i was totally satisfied. It’s nice to dress slightly classier and to carry a gentlemanly swagger just for shits every once in a while, i suppose.

Around June 10th i went to Cali for 4.5 days to watch my sister’s commencement at Caltech. It was cloudy/drizzly, atypical SoCal weather.

Graduation was like whatevs.

A few days after graduation i went to UIUC to take care of summer registration. Fun stuff. Stopped by in Michigan to visit family friends in Ann Arbor, who then decided to come back with us to NJ. I missed a few grad parties. Sam’s goodbye party (whatevs plenty of time with this kook anyway), George’s grad party (no idea what went down), Stan’s party (I only know they stink bombed jon tai’s house), and Jess’ AMAZING pool party (self described as such). I also went to the Art Institute of Chicago. If you’re ever in Chicago, it’s definitely worth the time to visit the Art Institute.

OK I’m done with the catchup posting

Here we go. I’ve got no plans this summer. Haven’t found a job. Definitely free to hang out with whoever’s home. I’ll show up to HHS XC practices when it’s convenient. Might have to go to Northern Cali with the family b/c my sister got a job in San Francisco and we’ll be visiting once my mom goes there ahead of time to help her settle in.

Time to fill out some stuff on the To-Do list from a few posts ago…

[] Find job – Lol didn’t really try that hard.

[] Learn to use raster and vectoring programs to an acceptable geek proficiency level. – Still going for it this summer haven’t started yet.

[] Learn basic programming to get ahead for firmware programming and other stuff i need for EE. I’ve had C++ and Visual Basic books lying around my house for 3 years now…  – Same as above

[] Keep running. Show up to HHS summer practice every once in a while. – Just started up again. 7 miler today. I’ll be at practices.

[] Build a headphone amp? Only if i have time and manage to remain interested. – Likely won’t happen. Not interested enough

[/] Play some video games so i won’t waste so much time on them when i’m in college. Started, not done

[/] Make the JCs even better. Started, not done. Definitely will pursue 8 pak <— not mispelled lolz (I did not start that joke)

[/] Become a classier individual in general. Started not done

[] Figure out how to play the acoustic guitar that’s been in my closet for 2 years. Might not happen

[X] Clean out my closet. Lots of clothes in there that no longer fit. Done

[/] New pair of shoes to wear around and new pair of shiny shoes for looking fly. Hightops if i still have money… Bought shiny shoes and plimsolls. Still looking for hightops. A nice colorway of Nikes otherwise Bape hightops if i have the money.

[X] Buy laptop/netbook for college. Uncle is buying me Acer Timeline.

[] Related: clean up hard drive on desktop or get another internal drive to free up the C:// (I’m down to 8gb out of 500 gb….) I should do this soon. 1 TB costs only about $60 now.

[X] Find time to do all of this stuff… I feel like i have all the time in the world at the moment.

Not a very long post like i envisioned it. Oh well.
