What the fuck have I been doing for the past month!? July 24, 2008

Now i’ll never know for the rest of my life since i haven’t blogged about it.

I’ll attempt to remember…
1)Got back from uneventful family trip. Duke has surprisingly good engineering facilities. (significantly nicer than UPenn actually. And newer equipment than at Columbia.) I’ll be applying there. Although running for Duke is probably not a realistic expectation since they’re Division 1. However, a few CBA kids did end up running for Duke the past few years, and I guess I could do it if I really wanted to.

2)Job. Yes, everyone who hears about my job thinks it sounds really fucking special. Unfortunately, I DON’T DO SHIT at my job. I carry equipment and listen to the old indian guy at the office telling stories about his sons…

3)Running. I can’t say i’m entirely satisfied with my running lately, especially on frontwoodsbackwoods workouts. Then again, we didn’t run hills for like six months, so it’s understandable that i’m having constant quadgasms… Also, turned my ankle on Saturday, but after reduced mileage the past 2 days, I should be ready to roll again. My camo colorway Katana Stars arrived today. They look quite awesome. They will have to do until the Speed Spider R comes out in America.

4)Smash. Haven’t been playing as much as I would like… I’ve played melee a few times at Frank’s house in the past few weeks. I suck at it now. Horribly. At least my Marth, DK, and CF are all improving in Brawl. My Wolf is getting a bit stale, though, and I’m pretty sure Marth and CF have replaced him as my mains.

5)Plan with Sam. Not elaborating too much. Seeing as how Sam linked to my blog, and people other than myself now read this blog. Perhaps i’ll make a private post about it some time soon. (Sam: feel free to read my private posts, since i’m most likely making most of my private posts about things i’ll have discussed with you in some capacity. That way we’re on the same recon page. Especially since you’re on AIM less often now, with the job and whatnot. the password is the same one you have right now)

6)Hanging out with friends. Yeaaahhh. Other than a few smash gatherings, and a pool partay at Jackie’s house 2 weeks ago, this hasn’t happened. Especially with my boy-lover Horace in China. Whatevs though. Most of the people i hang out with now are XC guys so we get to see each other quite a bit. Just not very much outside of practice because my job’s full time =[ (8hrs/day, mon-fri )

7)College Apps. Fun shit. I’ve only started the Common App. I haven’t started the essays though.

Nuff said. Lofty goal? Not if i don’t pussy out 3 weeks into the program.

9) Anime. Bokura Ga Ita was mindblowingly depressing. If you really want to lose all faith in the opposite sex, then watch this series. I thought girly series’ always had happy endings to their love stories. Watched almost all of Minami-ke and Minami-ke Okawari, but the fansubbing group isn’t done with Okawari. Same happened for Nodame Cantabile. Currently downloading Aria: The Animation and 5 Centimeters per second. Been keeping up with Code Geass R2, relatively satisfied with the series so far.

10) A lot of my goals for this summer will not be fullfilled because of my job. Learning guitar and some basic programming are probably not going to happen. I’m just wayy too tired after running and working everyday. I barely have enough energy to do the necessary things, like college apps, and fullfilling the Sam Plan.

11) How could I forget? I got a new phone. The Sony Ericsson phone crapped out on me after i dropped it. Good thing it lasted so long though. I’ve had that phone for almost 2 years anyway. Got the LG Shine in Red. It looks quite hot in person. The camera is also quite nice. Reception is good to boot. Yeah, fuck you Steve Jobs. I don’t need your shit phone that requires a shit 70$/month minimum contract that has no texts included. If I ever feel inclined to buy a portable device of that nature (minus the phone, of course), I will go with the Nokia N810 (or any future successors) or the Pandora. Why? because they offer a REAL FUCKING INTERNET EXPERIENCE. (Flash 9.0 support, 800×480 res screen so i don’t have to fucking scroll horizontally to view a fucking webpage.)
The real thorn in my side about the iPhone and iPods in general is this: reviewers and other fuckers always claim the iPhone and iPod designs are “sexy.” Sure, Jessica Alba is sexy. But if everyone in the world looks like friggin Jessica Alba, no one can be considered hot until someone steps up and raises the bar and looks like Megan Fox. Ok, that was an admitedly weak analogy because Jessica Alba would be hot regardless of any factors, but still, i think you can understand my point. The term “sexy” is all relative. Fashion is not about conforming. It’s about standing out in a good way. Different yet better. I would know, being as fashionable as I am…

btw, started talking to lisa a while ago, if that really means anything at all. (lolz of course it doesn’t, silly.)

Woahh, the word count is over 879 (not quite over 9000 yet…). I’m pretty sure this is long enough to be a college essay. I’m sure they’d love the Jessica Alba analogy. Then again, I ended up bashing Apple. And conformist fuckers hate it when i bash Apple.

That is definitely more than a month’s worth of posts… time for bed/DSAIM.
